Gaumukh trek, which is located in Gangotri National Park in Uttarakhand opens every year by April end week or May first week.

This year the Gaumukh Trek will open up by May 4, 2024. The trek route could have been opened up by April end week but due to late snowfall this year, some glacier patches are still on the route near Bhanglu Basa and Kachi Dhaang. A team went for reccy around April 24, 2024. They evaluated the trek and repair work that needed to be done. The repair work is ongoing and will likely be completed by May 4, 2024.

Gaumukh Trek is within Gangotri National Park and National Park closes around November 30 every year. On 1st week of November Gaumukh can be done but remember it will be really cold. Staying option in Bhojbasa are GMVN Bhojbasa and Lala Baba Ashram.

Im planning for 10th of June. I have been to Gomukh once in 2016 and permit used to be given at Gomukh start check point.
Can we get permit from start check point or there is any online portal where I can apply for permit before I reach.

Hi, yes you can get a permit offline, and the online process is there as well. We can also arrange your permit for a few fees. Please refer to this page for more info: https://himalayandreamtreks.in/how-to-get-gaumukh-permit/

      Thanks
