After working with multiple hotel chains and restaurants across India, our founder Sobendra Singh chose to follow his lifelong passion for mountaineering. After earning professional mountaineering certifications, completing multiple solo treks, and working as a guide in the Indian Himalayas, he founded Himalayan Dream Treks to share his deep love for the mountains with others.

Our belief, “To the Himalayas & Beyond,” reflects the idea that the Himalayas are more than just peaks to climb—they are experiences to be felt, understood, and respected. The journey began with the Kedartal Trek, where a small team came together to offer the best of their skills, care, and experience.

Since then, Himalayan Dream Treks has grown into a trusted trekking operator in the Indian Himalayas, offering treks, high altitude passes, pilgrimages, and expeditions across Uttarakhand, Himachal, Ladakh, Kashmir, and Sikkim. We cater to beginners, experienced trekkers, and expedition level mountaineers alike.

SOBENDRA SINGH (SOBHI NEGI)

Founder

Our founder, Sobhi Negi, is an experienced mountaineer, outdoor enthusiast, and nature lover who has played a key role in shaping Himalayan Dream Treks. Driven by his dream of showcasing the true beauty of the Himalayas, he works tirelessly to build safe, authentic, and meaningful mountain experiences. Before founding HDT, Soby gained over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, which helps him bring a strong focus on service, comfort, and guest experience to mountain travel.

He has successfully completed the Basic Mountaineering Course from ABVIMAS and the Advanced Mountaineering Course from NIMAS, and is also Wilderness First Aid certified from the Hanifl Centre. Soby has been part of several challenging expeditions and high-altitude crossings, including Shrikanth Peak, Auden’s Col, Black Peak, Satopanth, and Kalindi Khal. His combined expertise in mountaineering and hospitality ensures that every trek and expedition maintains the right balance of adventure, safety, and comfort.

Arvind cares deeply about his community and works to strengthen the local economy. He focuses on creating jobs and promoting Uttarakhand’s lesser-known treks to the world. Although he is not a regular trekker, he joins treks occasionally, showing his dedication. By reducing migration and bringing people together, Arvind is making a positive impact that goes beyond his own interests.
