Since October 2023, travel insurance has been made mandatory for the Gaumukh Tapovan Trek. Only if you have travel insurance will you be able to get your Gaumukh Tapovan Permit.

Not any travel insurance is eligible. General travel insurance insures baggage loss, flight delays, etc., but it doesn’t cover adventure activities like trekking, hiking, and biking. Only travel insurance that covers adventure activities is allowed. As Gaumukh Tapovan is around 4,300 meters above sea level so Adventure Insurance that covers trekking up to 4,500 meters altitude is needed.

At HDT, we can help you get insurance for your adventures. For your Insurance needs, we have partnered with ASC360. Below are the steps to get insurance for the Gaumukh Tapovan Trek.
